doula services

Why choose a birth doula?

Whether you decide to give birth in a hospital, birth center, or in your home, there is a myriad of ways that a doula can enrich your experience. A doula is there to offer emotional, physical, and informational support, staying by your side throughout the entirety of labor and delivery, serving as your advocate in the birth room while also empowering you to advocate for your body, your baby, and your choices. In addition to providing physical comfort measures and helping to facilitate communication between you and your birth team during labor, a doula assists you in preparing for the birth through prenatal visits in your home, which include hands-on birth education, options for birth positions, and developing a birth plan based on your individual needs and preferences.

As your doula, my primary goals are to help you make the most informed choices for your body and for your baby, to help create the optimal labor environment based on your preferences and needs, and to lovingly support you and your family throughout this process. I would be honored to work with you as you transition into becoming a new parent.

My birth doula package includes:

prenatal visits

As your birth doula, I offer 3 prenatal visits in your home to ensure that you feel heard, supported, and informed about all of your choices. Together, we’ll discuss options and resources to help you develop a birth plan that aligns with your values and needs. My goal is to provide informative childbirth education, prepare you and your support team for optimal postpartum recovery and newborn care, and work together to help you listen to your instincts and tap into your body’s wisdom.

Labor Support

My role is to provide physical, emotional, and informational support throughout your labor and delivery. I’m here to advocate for you at all times and to maintain a safe, comfortable, nurturing labor atmosphere. As your doula, I am committed to attending the birth and providing on-call support beginning at 38 weeks. I offer a range of physical comfort measures and body work, including uterine massage, rebozo, and pelvic wrapping. I also document your labor experience and, after the birth, create a handmade book for you to keep as a memento.

Postpartum care

As a birth doula, I offer one postpartum visit to provide additional support and information after the birth. I’m here to listen and guide you through processing your experience of labor and delivery. I also offer postpartum services, including meal delivery and in-home newborn care, to provide additional support to you and your family, tailored to your individual needs.

I am committed to providing access to care for all families in our community. For information regarding financial assistance and all other inquiries, please call or text me at 831-915-7398.

A LA CARTE Doula SERVICES

Why a la carte?

My experience in the birth world has taught me that long-term contracts for doula work and postpartum care are often inaccessible due to the cost and commitment. I believe that everyone deserves birth and postpartum support, and I am committed to providing affordable care. Each family has individual needs, and my goal is to provide services that cater to everyone in our community.

Birth Support

Birth Doula Consultation:

Many new parents are unsure of where to begin when considering hiring a birth doula. Often the need for support makes sense, but it’s not clear exactly what the service will provide, and if it’s worth the cost. My consultation is designed to educate families on what working with a doula can look like, and offer a possible timeline for prenatal meetings and preparation for the birth. As a birth doula, I will discuss labor and delivery options and help you create a birth plan that empowers you to make informed choices that resonate with your beliefs. Whether or not you choose to work with a birth doula, this consultation will provide you with the knowledge and tools you need to have a safe, healthy, and supported labor and delivery.

Labor and Delivery Support:

This service provides support throughout your entire labor and delivery, without an extended contract. As your birth doula, I am committed to being on call starting at the 36 week mark, and is available by phone to answer all your questions as the birth approaches. Postpartum care can be added on if desired, tailored to your individual needs.

Parent-Focused Postpartum Care:

Parent Sleep Shift:

This primarily includes holding and caring for the baby, including diaper changes, feeding, swaddling, and tummy time. This service is to specifically give new parents time to shower, rest, sleep, eat, rest et cetera. This can happen right after birth or really any time afterwards, and can be extended to include additional days and for as many weeks as needed. Meals focused on postpartum nutrition can be prepared and provided for an additional cost.

Postpartum Meal Package:

Each week includes up to two meals from each of the categories (breakfast, lunch/dinner, and snack) and each portion will be enough for approximately 2-3 days, so that should provide 4 to 6 days of food per week. The weekly cost covers ingredients, packaging, grocery shopping, preparation and delivery.

Please call or text me at 831-915-7398 me if you would like to discuss pricing, options for financial assistance or have other questions regarding doula services.
